Operating drill rigs on water presents unique challenges for marine contractors. Poseidon’s sectional barges can be configured to include a “moonpool”—an open space within the deck that allows drill shafts and tooling to pass through for seamless operation.

To further support drilling applications, Poseidon has developed specialized “drilling spacers” for select barge models. These spacers are installed along the platform’s centerline, creating a 10-inch gap between the barges. This configuration enables lightweight drilling rigs to operate continuously along the center of the platform, minimizing the need for repositioning. The result is a more efficient workflow, reducing both time and operational costs.
